“A family needs parental discipline. If a family has its upbringing, and at school there are teachings from the teacher, then a person can obtain a standard for life after receiving a basic education.”

Mrs. Chan’s father was from Shanghai and her mother from Sichuan. She was born in Nanjing and raised in Taiwan. Mrs Chan stayed in Hong Kong for around twenty years, and then lived in Britain for another thirty years. If anyone wanted to learn the difference between western and Chinese culture, Sherry would be the one to ask. She’s not only a great host but also a great chef and has always been the biggest support for her husband. Although she believes western culture has its own value, Sherry still considers herself to be a traditional Chinese woman. Deep inside, China is always her root.
