Jenny LAM

“When I was young I ate everything — greasy, deep fried… all sorts of food. Now that I am getting on in age, I realised that I shouldn’t eat like that any more. If I could go back in time, I would prefer to live a healthier lifestyle.”

Jenny LAM
Community Worker

Origin - Malaysia

Jenny came to the UK from Malaysia with the intention of giving her two sons a better chance of getting into medical school. After her arrival in the UK, Jenny was yearning for a better understanding of the life of Chinese in the UK, consequently she became a volunteer in the Chinese National Healthy Living Centre. Three months later, Jenny was employed as a paid worker and continuously to today she provides health services to the Chinese communities including those around Chinatown. Over the last 16 years, Jenny has gained priceless experience and understanding of the health issues within the Chinese communities.
